Is Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rentals a hotel? If not, what is the difference?
No. Carpinteria Shores is not a hotel. Carpinteria Shores is a beachfront vacation rental community. Each individually owned vacation rental unit comes fully furnished, with fully equipped kitchens. Ways we differ from most hotels are: A) We do not automatically supply linens, but we do rent linens for an additional fee. All vacation rental units come with blankets, bedspreads & pillows, but not pillowcases, sheets or towels. B) We do not have nightly rates, like a hotel. We do not rent for less than one week. C) We do not have room service, nor do we have maid service. Units are cleaned before your arrival, and after your departure, but not during your stay.

What is the "Berm?" What is the "Berm Rate?"
The Berm Rates applies during the period that the Winter Protection Sand Berm remains between Carpinteria Shores’ property and the ocean. This berm is constructed each season (mid-November through mid-April) to protect the property from winter storms. It obstructs the view of the ocean from all first-floor units.

Does Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rentals offer year-round leases? Can we rent year-round on a monthly basis?
No. Carpinteria Shores rents month-to-month from early September to late June. From the last Saturday in June to the first Saturday after Labor Day, we rent weekly only.

Do vacation rental units at Carpinteria Shores ever come up for sale?
Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rental units rarely go on the market. Once you've visited us, you'll understand why!

Does Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rentals have a pool or Jacuzzi?
Carpinteria Shores does not have a pool or a Jacuzzi. Just the big Blue Pacific Ocean!

Does Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rentals allow pets?
Carpinteria Shores has a strict NO PETS policy with the exception of Seeing Eye dogs for the blind.

How many parking spaces are available for each vacation rental unit?
Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rentals offers one space per unit in our gated parking area. Extra parking is available on the street. Street parking is free, and the only "no parking" time each week is on Tuesday mornings, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, for street sweeping.

Can we have guests in the vacation rental unit?
A maximum of 6 people can stay overnight in a unit on any given night. There are no restrictions on daytime guests. The person whose name the reservation is in must be present for any overnight guests, unless previous arrangements are made with management. No subletting allowed.

Does Carpinteria Shores Vacation Rentals offer Senior, AAA, or other discounts?
No. Our off-season weekly and monthly rates, as well as our Berm rates (see below), are our discounts. Because each beachfront unit is individually owned and priced, Carpinteria Shores does not offer discounts for parties renting more than one unit.

Do all vacation rental units at Carpinteria Shores have ocean views?
Yes, with the exception of the Berm season for the first floor beachfront, all vacation rental units at Carpinteria Shores have ocean views. Ground floor units on the South side of the building (#102 & #103) may have partially-obstructed ocean views, depending on the number of parked cars at a given time at the end of Linden Street.

Do you have any one-bedrooms or studios?
No. ALL of our units are 2-bedroom (1 bath). Most have sofa sleepers.
